
The requirements of modern life include high quality materials and elements with better detail, more space and a limited budget. These days’ people want quality, but at the same time they want to spend less money on construction. There is only one practical solution for such a contradictory situation and that is construction on metal structure.
There are two major stages in a metal construction: machining and assembly. Machining represents the making in the workshop, from laminates or steel sheet, to the elements (pillars, beams etc.) that will make up, after assembly, the resistance structure of the building. As the name suggests, this process - machining - is really industrial, subject to the requirements and procedures specific to industrial production and less to those characteristic of construction. Thus, in the workshop, substantial reductions in costs and execution time can be obtained (compared to the execution on site), as well as a finished product whose quality is easy to control and which includes a large part of the total labor required.
A direct consequence of the high degree of prefabrication of steel building kits consists in the assembly that can be done very quickly, with relatively low costs and with a much lower dependence on environmental conditions than in the case of concrete structures. Besides, when it comes to metal structures, the cost of the transportation from the factory to the site and the logistics necessary for the installation are favored by their low weight.
